Welcome to Happiness Booster ("we", "our", "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Happiness Booster mobile application (the "App").

📋 Information We Collect
1. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is created and stored locally on your device using on-device storage. We do not transmit this data to our servers:
- Mood entries — your mood check-ins and emotional states
- Journal entries — personal notes and reflections you write
- Habit tracking data — habits you create and their completion status
- User profile — your name, streaks, experience points, and level progress
- Chat messages — your conversations with the AI wellness coach
2. Apple HealthKit Data
With your explicit permission, the App reads the following health data from Apple HealthKit:
- Step count
- Sleep analysis
- Active energy burned (calories)
- Exercise minutes
- Heart rate
- Mindful session minutes
HealthKit data is read only and is used solely to generate personalized wellness suggestions on your device. We never store, upload, sell, or share your HealthKit data with any third party. This data never leaves your device.
3. AI Chat Service
When you use the AI wellness coach feature, your chat messages are sent to a third-party AI service to generate responses. These messages are processed in real time and are not stored by us on any server. Please refer to the AI service provider's privacy policy for their data handling practices.
🔒 How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Track your mood, habits, and wellness progress
- Provide personalized daily wellness suggestions based on your health data
- Power the AI wellness coach conversations
- Calculate your happiness score, streaks, and achievements
- Improve and personalize your experience within the App
🛡️ Data Storage & Security
Your personal data (mood entries, journal entries, habits, profile) is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is not uploaded to any external server.
We do not operate user accounts or cloud synchronization. If you delete the App, all locally stored data will be permanently removed from your device.
🤝 Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- AI Chat API — to power the AI wellness coach. Only your chat messages are sent to this service. No health data, mood entries, or journal entries are shared.
- Apple HealthKit — to read health and fitness data with your permission. Data is processed on-device only.
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not share your data with advertisers.
👶 Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
